JELD-WEN
Now standard on Jeld-Wen’s premium vinyl slider and single-hung windows, the Mag-Lock features a fully concealed mechanism streamlined into the window’s profile. The handle of the lock serves as a latch indicator, emitting an audible “click” when locked. When not secured, the handle is positioned slightly away from the housing to make it easy to tell from a distance whether the window is locked. The locks use rare earth magnets that maintain their force up to 10,000 years, and have has passed the industry’s forced-entry resistance test, in addition to tests for water and air infiltration, the company reports. Tests show there is no way to disengage the lock using other magnets, nor will it interfere with pacemakers or computer equipment.
The TegraTite vinyl window installation system includes a one-piece sill drain mat that installs under the window on the rough opening, directing any incidental water away from the wall. The drain mat is made from flexible, non-woven material with a sloped, closed-cell foam back dam to block water. The mat is backed with butyl-based adhesive, and fits over the rough opening and directs any water away from the wall, keeping it dry. The adhesive flashing tape provides tighter, more energy efficient installation. The one-piece system replaces the flashing at the sill, the continuous shim and the drain screen
