How many lawsuits have been filed against your company this year?

THE TALK... | Management

Last week, the law firm Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P issued its annual U.S. Litigation Trends survey, which found that 75% of manufacturing companies faced at least one new lawsuit in the past year, and 53% reported facing six or more new suits. That's actually good news, according to the firm, which suggests that 2007 and 2008 saw the number of cases and dollar amounts involved trending downward slightly.

There are a few specific industry cases I hear about and report on for Window & Door, but a lot of what I hear is more anecdotal. So the statistics cited in that study prompted me to use our question of the week to get a better sense of how pervasive law suits are in the window and door business.

So let me know, how many times your company has been sued, and, of course, let me know your thoughts on the topic. Are things getting better, as the study suggests? Is it getting worse for our industry? Email me and tell me what you think.
